There was an orphaned girl named Karen. She was a pretty little girl but she was poor. One day, after her mother died, she received a red shoes and she wore it to her mother funeral. An old lady took pity on her and adopted her, Karen thought it was because of her red shoes. Apparantely the old lady thought she shoes was ugly and she throw it away.

Karen loves her red shoes but the old lady does not find those kind of shoes to be proper. When Karen becomes older, the old lady bought her a new shoes but she did not know that it was red because she had a bad eye-sight. Karen wore the red shoes to church and people start to take notice and the old lady found out that the shoes is red.

One day the lady became very ill and it became Karen’s duty to took care of her but she decided to abandoned the lady and went to the ball instead.So she took the red shoes and wear it, but the shoe became out of control and it make her dance again and again until the old lady died then she went to the executioner to cut her legs so that she could stop dancing.

Karen was homeless and she went to parsonage and lived there and become a servant there. One Sunday, all the people in the house went to the Church but Karen could not come. Then, an angel came to her and she was shown a vision of a Church. She was happy because God shown her mercy in her death where no one talks about the red shoes.

The old lady forbid Karen from wearing the shoes to Church, but Karen was too enamored by her red shoes so she defy the old lady. One Sunday when Karen went to the Church with the old lady, an old man put a curse on her shoes. After she went out from the Church, she could not stop dancing until the coachman manage to take off the shoes from her feet.

After her leg was cut off. She went to the church but she found her legs dancing in front of her. She became afraid so she turned around and walked away from the church. After week she tried to go to the church again but she was still afraid to enter the church because of her legs dancing in the red shoes.
