This was Charleston Harbor, SC. April 12 - 14, 1861. Robert Anderson represented the Union, and P.G.T Beauregard represented the Confederates. This is the war that started the Civil War. 3.9 million slaves were freed, but over 620,000 Americans lost their lives in these 2 days.

Antietam, September 17th, 1862

This was Washington Count, MD. September 17, 1862. George B. McClellan representing the Union, and Robert E. Lee represents the Confederates. The Union stands up to the Confederates, it goes down as the deadliest one day battle in America. There was a total of 132,000 forces engaged, most being the Union. There were 22,717 casualties in that day.

Emancipation Proclamation, January 1st, 1863

The Emancipation proclamation was proclaimed in Washington County, MD. January 1st, 1863. It was instated by President Abraham Lincoln and in support of him, William H. Seward the Secretary of State. It was the America freeing the slaves living in Confederate states (which eventually carried over to the Union).

Gettsyburg, July 1st, 1864

This was Adams County, PA. July 1st - 3rd, 1863. Robert E. Lee lead the Confederates in Gettsyburgs battle. The bloodiest three day battle, with 51,112 casualties. The Union had won the battle and this event was a big turning point toward ending the Civil War.

Appomattox Court House, April 9th, 1865

This was Appomattox County, VA. April 9th, 1865. Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant that were the main leaders in this event. One of the bloodiest conflicts in American History, the Union won by cornering the federals forcing a surrender. The Union had engaged 40,000 more troops, there were 652 casualties in this conflict.

Chickamatuga, September 18th - 20th, 1863

This was Catoosa County and Walker County, GA. September 18th - 20th, 1863. William S. Rosecrans, and Braxton Bragg were some names who were leading a side in this battle. The Confederates won, and the rebals broke into the Union and forced the Federals into a siege.

Cedar Mountain, August 9th, 1862

This was Culpeper County, VA. August 9th, 1862. John Pope, George B. McClellan, Robert E. Lee, Nathaniel Banks, and Thomas J. Jackson were some people involved in this event. The Federals won after Pope had marched his forces south to Culpeper County. Confederate General Charles Winder died during this move of the battle from Cedar Mountain to Northern Virginia.

The Wilderness, May 5th - 7th, 1864

This was Spotoylvania County and Orange County, VA. May 5th - 7th, 1864. Robert E. Lee, Ulysses S. Grant, William T. Sherman, and George G. Meade. "The bloody Battle of the Wilderness" is what it was called. This battle was inconclusive, it spanned through two days and the Union had more than 17,500 casualties in 48 hours.

Carthage, July 5th, 1861

This was Jasper County, SC. July 5th, 1861. Franz Sigel, Sterling Price, Nataniel Lyan, and Jackson Gov were involed in this event. The Union had won by overpowering them which scared them off, more than 4,000 people had to evacuate the county.

Mobile Bay, August 2nd - 3rd, 1864

This is Mobile County and Baldwin County, AL. August 2nd - 3rd, 1864. Admiral David Farragust, Admiral Franklin Buchanan, and Abraham Lincoln who were involved in this event. Farragut lead the Union to the last Confederate port and secured it in the span of a few hours.
