After graduation, I decided to settle in Cluj-Napoca, where I’ve now been living for the past ten years. I currently work as a Structural Designer at a Romanian company called WINCON. Over the years, I’ve gained extensive experience and developed many skills, both through my studies and my professional work.

At my current job, I manage my own projects together with a team of designers. Our company specializes in prefabricated elements, with two factories one located in Bonțida (Cluj County) and another near Bucharest. We also act as a general contractor, working on steel structures, and we are the only company in Romania that designs and builds tilt-up structures.

We’ve completed many projects across Romania so many that it would take me hours to list them all!

That’s a brief overview of my professional background.

As for my advice to international students joining UTCN:

• Learn the Romanian language it’s a key to understanding the culture and integrating into the community. It will help you in countless ways.

• Balance your time between studies and fun. University life should be productive but also enjoyable.

• Show genuine interest in your courses and professors they’ll appreciate it and will be more than willing to help you.

• And finally, try to find an internship with a local company. It’s the best way to apply what you learn in class and gain real-world experience.

I successfully graduated from the Medical University of Cluj-Napoca in 2024, and in 2025 I began my career in Germany at the University Hospital of Frankfurt am Main. It has been a long journey—one that, in my opinion, would not have been possible without learning Romanian. Knowing the language will open many doors for you, including opportunities you might not even expect.

My advice is to take your courses seriously, even if you will study your major in English or another language. Be active, ask questions, and make the most of the guidance offered by your teachers—some of the best in their field.

I was accepted in a scholarship offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania 2016. I studied one year for the preparatory year to learn Romanian language, history, and technical terms in Romanian. Then I started studying for my Ph.D. 2017-2018 and I had my public defense online hence it was during COVID lockdown April 2021.

My professors, now my colleagues, were all very helpful and eager to transmit their knowledge, they were always there for me throughout my journey, and I can't thank them enough. I also was teaching labs during my study, and I had such a wonderful experience as my dream career was to become a professor and work directly with the students, lab training, and doing research. I continued working at the university and I am now one of the permanent teaching staff.

It's been 9 years since I first came to Romania, and I love it so much that I settled down here with my husband who is also a graduate from the same university.

I am also the vice president of an archery club here in Cluj called Paradox and I train people to start the sport safely

being an archer made me an outdoor man and I traveled around the country to participate in archery competitions I saw all types of forests and historical sites, and I have so many memories and images for each event.

at the end I would like to say that I am very grateful to Romania for being such a beautiful place and the Romanian people for being the amazing people they are.

I first studied the Romanian language at the Technical University. After completing the language course, I continued my studies in Electronics Engineering and successfully graduated.

Looking back, I can say that this experience was one of the most valuable opportunities in my life. It helped me gain knowledge, develop practical skills, and build a strong foundation for my future career. I also met many wonderful people and created friendships that I truly value.

My advise would be to take learning the Romanian language seriously from the very beginning. A strong command of Romanian will make your future studies much easier, help you communicate confidently with professors and colleagues, and allow you to make friends more easily. Also, be active. Participate in university activities, ask questions, work hard. Every experience you gain will help you grow, both personally and professionally.
