This photo was taken in 1951 in North Caroline. In the picture we can see two separate water fountains, one for white people and one for black people. The water fountain for white people is clean, new, modern but the water fountain for black people is old and dirty. It shows the discrimination of black people. We can see a man drinking from the segregated water fountain because black and white people were not allowed to use the same water fountain. He had to use a different water fountain.
