This article showed me just how much Poe struggle in his life. Even through his fame, he still had a hard time providing for himself. He had a very depressing life which was reflected in his melancholy poems. Even after the raven was written he was still begging people for money and food. I would like to know where he got his ideas from for his poems and his motivation to keep writing even through his tough life

I think in some how Poe was brave because he wanted himself to stand up as a writer and a poem (even though that did not make much money for living) independently. Reading the article I felt that Poe should not have been born in that period.
Maybe he might have lived rich when he was born in other time period. Poe's life was really miserable. However, he worked hard writing poems such as Raven, Annabel Lee, and etc. His surrounding situations such as economic crisis or the death of his wife helped Poe to write emotionally and passionately. Because of his work, he is now considered as the pioneer of romantism in US. He made a lot of acheivement despite the environment that he was living.
