Last week when enrolling at college we got into groups and did different activities one being guiding a partner who’s blindfolded through an obstacle course. This developed my communication skills as I had to guide my partner through a course my just my voice. I believe I did good as they managed to get through the course without falling. I believe I could have spoke more clearly as my partner got muddled up sometimes.

The other day we was given balloons elastic and tape and had to work as a team to build a chair that someone could sit on and wouldn’t pop. Even though I am allergic to balloons I communicated with the group and I explored ideas with them. I think I could have brought more ideas forward.

The activity was team building through sport. We was separated into random groups and went around different activities one being hockey. I talked to different people to pass the ball and came up with ideas to win when scoring a goal I communicated with the team. I think I could have got more involved but I was making new friends.

On induction day we were put in random teams with people we never met and I had to build a balloon chair with string tape and balloons with the group I was put in. Even though I am allergic to the balloons I made sure to have input in the group. when we were planning the layout and how to build the chair I helped draw my ideas and other ideas that others imputed. I think it went really well as the chair once built held a person on the team for a few minutes before popping.

When I worked with my dad we had to work as a team with other employees to build a dry stone wall. We were all given jobs when building and I had to smash rocks to be the filling for the wall. however when putting the string up to measure the height of the wall so that is able to be level I went over and offered help to one of the workers when I saw them struggling to pull it tight enough. I think it did really well as everyone had input and I offered help when I saw they needed it and others were busy.

In saffrons lesson last Monday morning we had to get into teams and work on things to do with a British value. as a team we had to find and come up with a definition, a way to remember it, a logo that captures it and examples in everyday life that we use it. As a team we came up with a poem that captures the British value we were given. I believe this went well as we got the task done and everyone input without arguing.

I helped to raise money for Barnsley hospice by running the raffle and guess the Easter jar of mini eggs. Within doing this we managed to raise around 190 pounds for the hospice. If I did this again I think I would become more involved within the activities. I achieved the goal we wanted to achieve.

I worked with my dad for a week building a dry stone wall within a farm for the animals to stay within their areas and be safer. I managed to help get the job done and even earn money. I believe i could have been more help however most of the stones were really heavy. I achieved the goal of caring for others and working with new people.

I helped to host a birthday party for a close friend as she was short staffed with her business. I believed i did good doing this as i helped a small business and learnt new skills. In future i think i would try get more jobs out of this. I achieved service skills and helping others.

Before doing this assignment I was nervous as I’d never really done an interview like this and I did not know how to use the crew seat. I realised that during the assignment the crew seat is quite easy to do but is heavy and that it is a lot easier to answer the interview question than what I had thought previously. I felt a little confident but also brain foggy. After the assignment was over I was relieved and proud as I had got it over with for now and I think I did quite well. My areas of development are my confidence and that I need to relate a little more from previous experiences to future experiences in the role of cabin crew.

This is relevant as to be a part of cabin crew you need to be able to reach the overhead lockers to get things out and in and make sure they are closed for flying. You also need to be able to work the crew seat and be able to get into it properly for the safety and in an emergency and landing etc. A interview is also important to be able to pass and occupy the job. During an interview you will need to answer random questions and how they relate to the roe of cabin crew. This is important due to the quick thinking you may need onboard.
