The Song dynasty was an era of Chinese history that began in 960 and continued until 1279. It succeeded the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, and was followed by the Yuan dynasty. The Song dynasty is divided into two distinct periods: the Northern Song and Southern Song. During the Northern Song(Chinese: 北宋, 960–1127), the Song capital was in the northern city of Bianjing (now Kaifeng), and the dynasty controlled most ofinner China. The Southern Song (Chinese: 南宋, 1127–1279) refers to the period after the Song lost control of northern China to the Jin dynasty in the Jin–Song wars. During this time, the Song court retreated south of the Yangtze River and established their capital at Lin'an (now Hangzhou). Although the Song dynasty had lost control of the traditional birthplace of Chinese civilization along the Yellow River, the Song economy was not in ruins, as the Southern Song Empire contained 60 percent of China's population and a majority of the most productive agricultural land.^[1] The Southern Song dynasty considerably bolstered its naval strength to defend its waters and land borders and to conduct maritime missions abroad.

He is also known as Bao Gong a symbol of justice and integrity. He was appointed as a Magistrate , the head of Jianchang County. He then resigned his positioned and went home to take care of his old parents for ten years. After his parents' death, He was reappointed as the magistrate of the Tianchang County. And that year he was 40 years old. He proved to be a Magistrate of Justice, Fearlessness and Righteousness.

Years later, Song Ren Zhong became a king and Liu became the Queen Dowager (Huang Tai Hou). Li became Shun Rong. Li passed away at age 46. It was the same day that she became Li Chneg Fei by Li during canonisation. Although Song Ren Zhong was her son but she never complain that Song Ren Zhong became son under Liu throughout her whole life.

It is said that the justification for the employment of eunuchs as high-ranking Civil servants was that, since they were incapable of having children, they would not be tempted to seize power and start a dynasty. In many cases, eunuchs were considered more reliable than the scholar officials. A similar system existed in Vietnam.

The tension between eunuchs in the service of the emperor and virtuous Confucian officials is a familiar theme in Chinese history. In his History of Government,Samuel Finer points out that reality was not always that clear-cut. There were instances of very capable eunuchs who were valuable advisers to their emperor, and the resistance of the "virtuous" officials often stemmed from jealousy on their part. Ray Huang argues that in reality, eunuchs represented the personal will of the Emperor, while the officials represented the alternate political will of the bureucracy. The clash between them would thus have been a clash of ideologies or political agenda.

The number of eunuchs in Imperial employ fell to 470 by 1912, when the practice of using them ceased. The last Imperial eunuch, Sun Yao Ting, died in December 1996.
