Water temperature plays and important role in the ocean. This is because the water temperature in certain parts of the ocean has to be at a certain temperature in order to substain certain animals. Differences in water temperature can also have a big impact on the physical and chemical properties of water. It can also effect the metabolic rates of the oceans organisms and can also effect habitats and varietys of aquatic life.
