2.  According to mythology, Thebes was founded by Cadmus who was on his quest of finding his sister Europa, after Zeus had abducted her. Unable to find his sister, he went to consult with the Oracle where he was told to abandon the search and rather found a city on Boeotian plains. 3. Thebes was a constant rival of Athens and Sparta over the domination of the region. In around 480BC, Thebes sided with Persians in Greek-Persian war, after the Spartans were defeated at Thermopylae. After the Greeks defeated the Persians, they had punished Thebes by depriving it of the presidency of the Boeotian league. In around 430BC, Thebes re-emerged in Peloponnesian war and sided with Spartans against Athens. Ancient Corinth was a city of Ancient Greece, located in the north side of the Peloponnese, in southern Greece. The city was first inhabited in the Neolithic period (5000-3000 B.C.) and was considered the wealthiest city in the ancient world.

Ancient Corinth was formerly known as "Ephira" and was founded by Sisyphus, who became famous for his feat to break the boundaries of human capabilities and win over death. 

The natural rival of Athens, Corinth was traditionally allied with Sparta. Athenian assistance to the rebellious Corinthian colonies was a direct cause of the Peloponnesian War (431–404 B.C.). During the Corinthian War (395–387 B.C.), however, Corinth joined with Athens against the tyrannical rule of Sparta. After the battle of Chaeronea (338 B.C.) Corinth was garrisoned by Macedonian troops. It became (224 B.C.) a leading member of the Achaean League and in 146 B.C. was destroyed by the victorious Romans. 

The Greeks had a lot of different kinds of governments, because there were many different city-states in ancient Greece, and they each had their own government. People's ideas about what made a good government changed over time, too.

The Greek philosopher Aristotle divided Greek governments into monarchies, oligarchies, tyrannies and democracies, and most historians still use these same divisions. For the most part, Greece began by having monarchies, then oligarchies, then tyrannies and then democracies, but at each period there were plenty of city-states using a different system, and there were many city-states which never did become democracies or tyrannies at all.

It was surrounded on 3 sides by mountains. Due to these, Sparta had many natural Barriers and was well defined from invaders. They had plenty of food due to the fertility of he land from the rivers. Sparta's patron gods are Ares,  Athena and Artemis. Ares had the most influence on Sparta since they were a warrior city state and most of their population was soldiers. They would always want to conquer land and stop invaders especially the Persians who was defeated by King Leonidas and his battalion of 300 soldiers. Sparta's rival was Athens because they plotted to destroy Sparta after an earthquake hit them in 464 BC. Athens also plotted to destroy them after the Peloponnesian war. Sparta's governemt composed of 2 kings and a 28 member council of elders that limit the Kings' power. They had a middle class who were mostly farmers and artisans who pay taxes to the government.
