We talked about different things. You showed me some works and the research you have done. You like to work with language in relation to material. Your poetic sentences seem to be quite direct. The sentence and choice of material create an interesting tension. You use research in your work, like your research on the development of porn and how this changed over the years, how it turned people into objects due to among others mass consumption and capitalism. Maybe the American biographical drama television miniseries Pam & Tommy is interesting (see post 1), chronicling the marriage between actress and model Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, played by Lily James and Sebastian Stan. Respectively, during the period their unauthorized sex tape was made public. The series is also a reflection on the effect of the internet and how Tommy and Pamela both become objects, and at the same time it also zooms in on their breakup and how both fight after their breakup the image that has been created about them. You could also go into classical plays concerning break up like Medea (see post 2). Euripides's 5th-century BCE tragedy Medea depicts the ending of her union with Jason, when after ten years of marriage, Jason abandons her to wed King Creon's daughter Creusa, and Medea and her sons from Jason are to be banished from Corinth. In revenge, Medea murders Creusa with poisoned gifts.

Gradually in our talk, we talked about the theme of a breakup, also in relation to rage and anger. We were thinking that we could take this as a perspective, how for instance breakups are expressed in certain poems, movies, and so on. With also a special interest in anger and rage (see post 3). Like you did your research on porn (see post 4/Dworkin) you could also do research on the relation between breakup, (female) rage, or something else.

Maybe you find the article about Force/Violence by Simone Weil also interesting (post 5), she was intrigued by the effect of violence on people, how they turned due to this in things, also the ones that use or exploit violence (in English it is translated in Force but I think you can also use the word Violence) see post 5.

Throughout history, semen has been revered as a magical substance – a totem of literal and symbolic potency. The project In Posse aims to rewrite this cultural narrative; to use art and science to collaboratively disrupt the patriarchy by making semen from “female” cells. The project is being developed in three parts – firstly, In Posse is on a journey to grow spermatozoa (sperm cells) from Charlotte’s body in collaboration with Prof. Susana Chuva de Sousal Lopes. At the same time, a female form of seminal plasma (the fluid part of semen) has been developed using material donated by multiple women, trans and gender non-binary people. Finally, the “female” semen is used a series of re-enactments of the ancient Greek women-only festival of Thesmophoria.
