  • from his or her person or in their presence;
  • against his or her will;
  • by violence, intimidation or the threat of force.

Threats do not make victims feel fear or to cause harm.  Blackmail is a form of extortion in which the threat is to expose embarrassing and damaging information to family, friends, or the public.
