Two midwives from same mini team facilitate the 36 weeks visit allowing shared discussion of birth plan.
The team facilitate a monthly ‘Meet the Midwives & Telling Tales” enabling the women to meet all midwives of the team as well as their peers. Families that have been looked after by the team are also invited to share their birth stories (usually a hospital and a home birth experience) with all the team's women due that month and their birth partners. Two hours in the afternoon with families, all couples due that month and following.
No antenatal classes provided by the team, women invited to attend local NHS classes.
The team has two team meetings every week (of one hour each) in order to discuss the caseload list and make sure all team midwives are aware of women’s preferences and clinical circumstances. Link obstetrician and perinatal mental health nurse are invited to join the meetings monthly to discuss more complex cases.
