The Iraq War and WWI started for very different reasons, the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand caused WW1, and the US attempting to disarm weapons in Iraq caused the Iraq War. They also had similar fighting styles that used barbed wire, machine gun stations, and chemical gas attacks. WWI did not have its desired outcome of finishing the fight quickly with few casualties, while the views on whether the Iraq War was successful are split.

From June 2004 through March 2005, A soldier named Scott Weikert deployed to Iraq with the 7th Naval Construction Regiment (NCR). During his time there his team engaged in a 56-day battle against the US and UK military. In their attempt to protect the Iraqi people, there were more than 2000 soldiers killed, the most out of any battle during the Iraq war.
