It should be left up to a more local level. Although sharing at the local, state and federal level would benefit the public school system on best practices. I find the common core curriculum to be two fold. While it can be limiting in what is taught it is nice to have some consistency across the country with educational standards.

They are supporting teachers and their unions. Not being in favor of vouchers and funding failing schools gives these schools an opportunity to turn themselves around and succeed. Creating more options for low income families is key to bringing these families out of poverty in the generations to follow.

Free public college and university to qualified students
Eliminate gross inequities in school funding
Federal policy should ensure equity of education
Oppose for-profit administration of public schools
Forgive all student and parent student loans for post-secondary and vocational education programs
Teach non-violence & conflict resolution programs through out all grade levels
Provide healthy farm to table school meals from local family farms along with educational opportunities
Repeal No Child Left Behind
Expand arts and physical education programs
www.gp.org/the_green_party_on_education
I feel my values lie most closely with the green party on education. Feeding our students from locally sourced sustain-ably farmed food and creating an educational connection with that food would benefit students nutritionally and educationally. Teaching non violence throughout children's careers as students may intern create a more peaceful generation of leaders. Allowing for free college educations will enlighten our society as a whole and cancelling student loans will spur the economy because people will have money to buy homes and cars instead of paying student loans.
