Malala was born in a town in North-West Pakistan called Swat District on 12 July 1997. She was named after a Pashtun heroine (Malalai) by her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai. Malala is the youngest Nobel Prize laurate ever. She is known for being a activist for female rights in education in Swat Valley in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, North-West Pakistan. Women and girls were banned from attending schools. she had grown up around schools and schooling all her life.
Yousafzai has grown in her passion to get this legalised within her country and has now taken it international. Desmond Tutu nominated her to the International Children's Peace Prize. In 2012 she was injured after attempted murder against her by a Taliban gunman on the 9th of October. She improved her condition after being treated at Rawalpindi Institute for being in a critical state and unconscious. (Unknown, 2017) Her father in Swat ran the school next to his family home which had the second highest number of children in the world. He always loved learning and was known for the defender for the Pakistan education system. With this his Taliban opponent sadly he was outspoken about the restrictiveness of the stoppages of girls and women going to school for education. (Fund, 2017)

How has Malala's work encouraged a more open-minded view on situations rather than a close-minded and controlled view?

It has encouraged a more open-minded view because people are understanding the importance of education for all Islamic people. She has created a base for people to build on the want for rights for men and women in Islamic families. She is an open-minded person because she is not set one one set view of the world it is always growing and changing. When Malala speaks in front of press and interviewers she is not afraid to tell her story and everything she got out of her experience. (CNN, 2014)

Others were also wounded the second time she was shot when she was the age of 14. (CNN, 2014) Her parents also gave her the courage to speak out and be proud to be a women. She loves education and will do anything within her power to get women's rights with education in Pakistan. (Geographic, 2016)

She is working towards bettering and changing the rights for women. This is mostly in the field of education. She believes everyone should have their say and not be afraid to voice themselves. Malala also wants children and teenagers to voice not just for themselves but for others who might need it.(Geographic, 2016) When she was younger and even now she wants to be a doctor. It was a fear in her heart about getting education taken away from her that she spoke freely about it in 1997. (Times, 2013)

We know that she has clearly offended the Taliban group members or the leader of that extremist group. She also inspired more people then she has offended. She has inspired more people to speak about girls education. She has inspired many people around the world to help this case. People also now understand how much not only the boys need education but girls. This is because families are now speaking out about it. (Authors, 2016) The only down side about the Taliban group being offended is that people especially girls who speak out and voice their opinions about this. They could end up getting hurt badly because of this hideous groups way of punishment.

Malala's story has inspired me since I saw her on the CNN show, although I never understood it back then. She has this power to get you to see things. Her International Children's Peace Prize speech was powerful. The thing that truly inspires me about her is her passion. Even though she was shot and essentially "ganged" up on she still has this passion for equal rights with women. Her passion is what drives her and now other people to be as passionate about it as she is. This assignment has challenged my worldview because she is such a powerful person. She has not only shown Pakistan what they should change but she has shown the world what we need to do to help. She is such an inspiration to so many people in the world and she is a truly change agent person.
