High school can be very clique-oriented, but today, or at least from personal experiences, we've never met someone we'd identify as a jock, or a bully, or a nerd, or a popular girl. Everyone branches out and talks to people that aren't on their sports team, or in the same club as them. Also, I do not think a principle would keep giving out detentions, if anything he would just suspend him. In real life, principals and teachers do not go out of their way to make their students miserable. The principal was rude and took the punishments too far with Bender and the other kids. But today if a student were to get caught in the same scenario, it would be a huge deal with big consequences. Such as an investigation of that person, they might have to get professional help and would probably go to jail.
