         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>First, remake this timeline for your own use. </strong>As you read chapters 4 in <em>An Indigenous Peoples' History</em>, add textual evidence and information about the dates mentioned in the chapters. Don't worry about overly general dates-for example-"from the early 1600s to the late 1700s. . . "&nbsp; Include specific information about the event/people mentioned in the date and include the impact the event/person had on Indigenous peoples. Be specific with nation names when possible.<br><strong>See my example for 1620. </strong>You may also leave personal thoughts, wonderings, or questions with your entries.&nbsp; Also feel free to include pictures or original drawings (if you're so inspired) to enhance the visual component of the timeline. <strong><br></strong><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>“The site where the British chose to build Jamestown in 1607 was located on Powhatan in what the British called the Colony of Virginia. The first Jamestown colonizers were among the many early arrivals who could not have survived without the help of ingenious people.” Pg 69<br><br>Some of the earliest colonizers landed in Jamestown of 1607 but struggled to gain any stability because of the different climate. If it wasn’t for Indigenous people they likely would have died.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>“Connecticut and Massachusetts colonial officials began offering bounties for the heads of murdered Indigenous people.” Pg 66<br><br>The colony’s wanted all the indigenous people dead no matter what. They resorted to bounty’s of peoples heads for money. I think this is quite amazing who driven people where back then to kill people who had and weren’t doing anything.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>“This series of raids against indigenous fields and villages is sometimes called the Tidewater War, although it was not really a war but a series of attacks with the goal of starving the people out of the area.” 68<br><br>The British launched attacks to destroy resources from the Powhatan to try an starve them because they had destroyed many colonies and done so much damage. I didn’t really expect the Indigenous people to be that ruthless after all we’ve heard about them but it doesn’t surprise me either because I would do the same thing in their position.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>“In the French and Indian War, the British found that the Cherokee nation was an extremely powerful ally to the French.” Pg 75<br><br>The British see that the Cherokee are extremely powerful and are allies to the French ans something needs to be done. They end up gathering a powerful group to go attack the Cherokee one village to another. This is an interesting strategy to try and take them out in one swift blow that may work. &nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>“In 1763 king George III of England declared that no British subjects should settle on Indigneous lands in the Ohio country west of “proclamation line.” Pg 79<br><br>The Kind of England decided to make a line where none of the British subjects could build or settle on in general. This surprises me because the British have not been the greatest to Indigenous people.</div>]]></description>
