It was their last year there and they wanted to make the last prom count before they all left to start their lives. When B.A.T was over the announcements came up. " THIS YEARS PROM THEIR IS GOING TO BE A COMPETITION, WHOEVER WINS THIS COMPETITION IS GOING TO BE CROWNED THE BEST MYTHICAL CREATURE ALIVE. WHO EVER GETS THE MOST VOTES WILL WIN. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU. HAVE A MYTHICAL MONDAY!" After the announcement was made the group of friends gushed over the news. " I think I can win this guys!" the mermaid said excitingly, "This could be my chance to really be something this year, and not just be a nobody." "No way, I'm winning this. For god's sake I'm a unicorn. Everyone loves unicorns, so I know I got this in the bag." the unicorn said confidently. "I don't know guys, I mean you guys are all pretty cool, but I'm Bigfoot, I totally deserve the title 'BEST MYTHICAL CREATURE ALIVE' I'm going to destroy all of you in this completion." Bigfoot said confidently. "You guys who cares about who wins, this is our last year here let's make the best of it. " said the platypus, he was the only one out of the four who didn't care about popularity and status, all he cared about was having the time of his life and making the most out everything. Not like his friends, all they cared about was who was the most popular, they didn't even care about the actual prom they just wanted to see who would win. Throughout the week the unicorn, mermaid, and Bigfoot campaigned around the school for votes. " VOTE FOR ME FOR THE BEST MYTHICAL CREATURE AROUND!" the mermaid announced she handed everyone a cupcake with her face on it. "DON'T VOTE FOR MERMAID SHE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE LEGS, VOTE FOR ME BEST MYTHICAL CREATURE ALIVE." yelled the unicorn. She was handing out macaroons with the words " vote for unicorn" . Bigfoot on the other hand was handing out cookies out and spreading rumors about the other two. Platypus was going to everyone and talking to them, even though he didn't believe in the competition he still wanted to participate, but he didn't want to do it the way the 3 others were. He went up to people and actually talked to them, and gave them good reasons why they should vote for him. Throughout the week they kept campaigning, through all the campaigning they all started to stop talking to each other and began to drift and soon enough they weren't friends anymore. Prom came shortly after, they all showed up to school and it was time to announce the winner of the contest. When it was time, all the contestants were called to stage. All four of them were there and everyone else who campaigned, " And the winner is...", said the announcer "PLATYPUS!" Everyone clapped except for the three other creatures. They all walked to the platypus. "How did you win?" asked unicorn. "I won because I was actually nice to everyone". When all of you were busy talking nonsense about each other I was talking to everyone and giving the REAL reasons to vote for me." The platypus walked away, and left the other astounded. Ever since then, the other three creatures are out and hiding from guilt and embarrassment. This is why humans today don't know if they are real or not, but because the platypus won he is real. This is why you should always stay true to yourself and not stress about being popular.
