Mª José, Spain

As a science teacher and as a citizen, I think STEM education is important because next generations need a full and critical knowledge in science or technology, and to develope skills, as maths or engineering, in order to understand and to get better the world they live in. Any field in our lives is related to STEM; environment, communications, health, politics, domestic life…

Mª José, Spain

I consider there is not a lack of STEM skills in my country. On the one hand the problem is the way we teach students. They have to learn too much theory about math, physical, chemistry, biology or technology, and usually without a relation between different areas. On the other hand, I think that we teach at school knowledges that are far away from the real science or technology advances.

Ac 2.1 The Fourth Industrial RevolutionMª José, SpainIn my opinion the fourth industrial revolution will merge biology, technology and the physical world, so advances in nanotechnology or materials science will change the world we know nowadays. I think that in the near future the human being will became the robot-human being, and in this kind of society, there won`t be differences between humans and robots. It will suppose a revolution in economy and way of living.

Mª José, Spain

The skills and activities that humans need to focus on are to acquire enough knowledge in technology, science, engineering or maths. The better people acquires conveniently those knowledge at school, the highest capability they will have to innovate and create machines. So in this kind of society, machines will make labour work and people will program them to do that.

Mª José, Spain

I think that the future STEM jobs teachers should preparing for are in fields as nanotechnology, biotechnology, robotic, ethical hackers or help-understanding computer programs applied in these fields. So, it is very important for them basic knowledge in science, biology or math, but at the same time we should prepare pupils in new technology, so them acquire skills in order to know how to program for example. And finally, is very important for pupils to be trained in knowledge about new materials, nanotechnology or biotechnology.
