But when Matthew went to the train station to pick him up, he was met with a skinny, freckled girl with red hair. Her name was Anne. And she had an awfully deep imagination.
     At first, Marilla immediately insisted that the girl should be sent back to the orphanage. She took Anne back herself, but her mind changed after a single conversation with the girl. Matthew couldn’t have been more happy. 
     Anne caused some troubles at first. She screamed into the face of Ms. Rachel Lynde, the Cuthbert’s neighbor. She apologized in the end, and succeeded in getting Ms. Rachel like her. 
     She went to school for the first time with her first best friend, Diana Barry. Everything there was happy until a boy name Gilbert Blythe came back to school from his vacation. Anne found him rude, playing unwanted pranks on people. And she exploded when he grabbed her braid and said, “Carrots.”

앤의 동심과 감성적인 생각이 묻어난 문장이라서 마음에 들었다. 

“I’ve never belonged to anybody. Not really. But the orphanage was the worst.” 앤이 겉으로는 되게 감성적이고 씩씩한 아이인 것 같아 보였는데 좀 덤덤하게 이런 얘기를 하는 것 같아서 생각보다 마음의 상처가 깊은 것 같다는 생각이 드는 문장이라서 마음에 들었다.

Matthew and Marilla wants to adopt a boy who can do some chores. Rachel, the neighbor was surprised to hear the news about Mattew and Marilla adopting a boy. But unfortunately, the orphan who was waiting Mattew, was a girl. The girl was a very sensitive, cheerful girl. Actually, I think she has a deep scratch in her heart. So I wish she could get cured by Mattew and Marilla. Even though she was not the girl who Mattew and Marilla was looking for.
