Before joining the Maplewood, New Jersey-based school, Damion Frye spent three years as a special assistant to the assistant superintendent of Newark Public Schools, a role in which he led the design of school-based professional development programs and implementation of a district-wide math curriculum. A member of professional organizations such as the International Reading Association and New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association, Damion Frye previously worked for two years as director of mathematics with District 79 New York City and held English and math teaching roles with The Equity Project Charter School, Montclair High School, North Star Academy Charter School of Newark, and Benjamin Banneker Charter School, among others. He also served as an adjunct professor at New York University and Montclair State University. Mr. Frye earned principal and school leader certification from the University of Scranton in 2011.
