in June of 1943 the ghetto everyone got transported to was liquidated and only a hand full of jews were lucky enough to escape.

The fathers of Julian and Roman for the next year would  show the jews how to build bunkers in the woods to keep them safe and provided them with food. Even with all the percausings the bunker was discoverd. twice by the germans, forcing the jews to flee. But every time the bunkers were discovered they would build new ones to stay safe.
