  • Also remarkable is the variety of Silk Road languages meaning people would most likely decide to travel a longer way down the road to trade because they know that it's likely they can communicate with the other trader.

    (2) The Silk Road isn’t actually a road. It was more like a route that was pretty involved. The route actually consisted of sea and road, and it often changed when there was bad weather, natural disasters, bandits, or raids.
