The 15th amendment states that you cannot deny a citizen the right to vote because of their race, color, or previous condition of servitude.          <description><![CDATA[<div>It was a success because by 1877 the South had became part of the North and accepted their oath to become part of the Union. They had accepted the 13th, 14th,and 15th amendments. Blacks were able to vote witch made Hiram Revels able to be elected as senator.&nbsp;<br>The new states made new constitutions. African Americans participated in new state and local governments to help rebuild schools, railroads, hospitals, housing, roads and worked for equal rights.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
