I participated in the Underground Railroad and worked to protect escaped slaves from slave catchers. I even took in a black child and raised him as my own and moved my family to the Kansas Territory to try and sway the vote to make it a free state. When pro-slavers attacked my fellow abolitionists in the Kansas Territory, I organized a group of people to fight back against them. I then went out and got funding to tried and build an army to help black people rise up fight for their freedom. My mother was born in the motherland, and she instilled in me a hatred of slavery and an appreciation of my culture. I was also taught to read by massa's son, and became religious.
