My sports hero is Serbian tennis player Ana Ivanovic. She is born in Belgrade 1987. Ana become interested in tennis at the age of five. Monica Seles was her sporting role model. Ana started training tennis at the tennis sports school in Belgrade and was a member of tennis club Partizan. At the age of 16, she made it to the Wimbledon Junior Finals. Ana as won 26 consecutive wins and won 4 tournaments. Ana played her first major match in Zurich, where she lost from Venus Williams. After the tournament in Luxemburg, she advanced to be among the first 100 players in the world on the VTA list. In the 2005 VTA tournament in Canberra, she won first place. Ana received the award as the tennis player who made the most progress thru that year.
Ana has won 10 VTA titles during her career and in 2008 she is ranked first in the VTA women's tennis list. In 2016, Ana retired from professional tennis.
