In the book Poison Ivy by Amy Goldman Cross, Ms. Gold, a teacher, discovers Ivy being bullied in her class and decides to put the bullies, Ann, Benita, Sophie, on civil trial. They get lawyers--the bullies get Owen and Ivy gets Einstein. The trial begins but Ivy's only witness lies under pressure from the class. Then, the jury come to the verdict that the bullies never bullied Ivy even though everyone knows they did.

The main character in Poison Ivy is not Ivy but Einstein. This is because she has the real conflict trying to win Ivy's case. Through out the book she becomes more relatable and eventually finds love with Cameron.

The theme of the book I believe is stated in the secound to last chapter of the book by Bryce when he say "winners win and losers lose" which is for sure a sad theme. I believe this is the theme because the author paints Ivy as kind of an outcast that no one likes but she loses and her attackers win.

My opinion on the book Poison Ivy is that it is a great example of how in life the good people don't always win. This is mainly because in the book there is a clear bad and a clear good. The bad people in the book are Ann, Benita, and Sophie and the good people in the book are Einstein and Ivy. Even though Ivy and Einstein are clearly the good people their witnesses buckle under social pressure from Ann. Because of this the bad wins over the good.
