         <title>The Dull Sword 1917</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The dull sword was one of earliest created, published, and released in 1917. The big eyed animated characters in the show enhance the meaning of anime. Originated in Japan, The Dull Sword highlights a sword that was sold to Samurai by a merchant. He was quickly made fun of after he was defeated because of the dullness of his sword. This show is still watched as of today. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Taken place during 1923, this earthquake struck Japan causing an enormous death toll in Japan. This took a toll on Anime publication due to the large fires in the city and many people looking after their health. </p>]]></description>

         <title>The Hare and the Tortoise 1924</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Anime came back up and running in 1924 after the earthquake. The Hare and the Tortoise was a kids anime that Yamatomo created. The six minute film was a silent film that was shot in black and white. The pictures are written in lines only and because it is a silent film, the author wanted to highlight the music behind it by drawing music notes out of the animals mouth to indicate that it is singing. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Black and white films continued to make a hit during this time. Many anime films began to focus on the problems facing issues of the time period. This anime film focused on the sacrifices that Tasuke had to make in order to benefit his life by moving up from farming and becoming a store-owner. Poverty during this time was high and the black and white art of the film enhanced the meaning of the work. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The black and white anime films continued to grow between 1924-1927. Film like these enhanced the strugles that the authors would write about. Such as this film. This film focused on the struggles of a little boy who had to overcome many difficulties. The thirty minute film turned into a series of Chiyogami Eiga. </p>]]></description>

         <title>1932 Colored Anime Films </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><br/></p><p>In 1932 Anime films began being released in color. From the time where one of the first anime films were released (1917), color began to take over these films. Black and white films decreased during the 1930's. Colored film began to become popular, ehancing the meaning of the authors work by the different dynamics. </p>]]></description>
