Good that the year started in class, especially for Y1 who now know all of the children. May take longer to build relationships with each other. It's harder for students to practise social skills online, and they have found it difficult for impromptu play etc

Informally. For Staff, teachers need to find a group of friends to gather for lunch, or for other social events. For Students, the weekly CIS school song singing helps in building a sense of community and belonging. Also, having new families meet with the specialist teachers during SPTCs to check in on how the student is adapting to his/her new school.

This would bring the whole community together. I miss the CNY assemblies where the little ones used to parade their lanterns, with the Y12 and 13's watching from above in the balcony of the secondary gym. I felt it really brought the school together.

Agree with all above comments. Let the children finish their school work and work on a passion project that is off screen. Somehow monitor what they will report back to the class. Motivation will go up if the children choose something they are truly passionate about doing.
