It’s about a girl named Ada with her young brother Jamie. Their Mom is very mean to them and you could say that it’s child abuse. She hits them and is a real jerk. The thing is, Ada has a clubfoot. She was born with her foot bent in a weird angle. Her mother is ashamed of her clubfoot so she locked Ada in her room. Jamie is escaping the war(World War 11) and Ada escapes with him secretly.
