What I love about our environment, apart from the fact that it gives us everything from air to food to shelter, is how it never fails to brighten my mood. The feeling whenever I bask under the sun and see beautiful green sceneries is just so comforting and relaxing that it makes we want to treasure the environment even more!

My pledge po is to continue living a sustainable life and keep choosing reusable things like tumblers over plastic bottles and my own reusable bag over plastics in order to minimize the clutter.

What I love about the environment is the fact that it offers almost all of our needs, from the air we breathe to the water we drink, without asking something in return. Also the fresh air and green scenery it has makes me feel calm and at peace.

Pledge- I would focus more on personal improvements like eliminating harmful chemicals that I usually use in a daily basis, then I would also educate myself deeper about the issues and concerns our environment is currently facing. After that I am now ready to share everything that I gained to help our environment because it may offer us things that we need, but just like most of us it has its own limitations. So even if our environment is not directly asking something in return, it is our job as humans to take care of it.

What I love about our environment is its beauty from complexity because from that we see how interconnected these entities to form an entire ecosystem. This integrative trait of our environment also embodies life which us humans continues to exploit for our own desires. I am under the BS Development Communication program, batch 2018. What I love most about the environment is its serenity. I find joy when in contact with nature– especially since I love being outdoors, doing physical activities.

I almost always walk when going from one place to another. At times, I would use my bicycle. By doing these activities, I lessen my carbon footprint. I pledge to continue doing actions that can benefit the environment, in one way or another. Examples of this include upcycling my old stuff, refusal to utilize single-use plastics, and responsible energy consumption, among others.

That I love the most about the environment is how interconnected species are in it. I love how the complexity of their relationships complimented all of their characteristics. Also, every time I feel like I'm at the closest with nature, it makes me feel relieved because it makes me realize that amidst the rapid urbanization growth happening nowadays, there are still places being sustained and natural resources are still being preserved for the future generations. There's something in environment that challenges me to take part and do actions that can contribute to its betterment through the years since it is related to life, I appreciate every essence of it.

My pledge is to contribute even in simple ways like using alternatives for plastic, as much as possible. Also, as someone in the field of Human Ecology, I believe that as I go on with this course, I will learn different ideologies and theories that can be used for future projects or innovations towards the quest for providing alternatives for plastic like the use of materials made from organic. As I have said in our previous meeting, what I love about the environment is the comfort and peace that it brings. Nature never fails to make me feel good and light whenever I get stressed with things such as acads, personal issues, etc. I also love the fact that the environment provides us everything that we need—air, shelter, food, and even the things that give us comfort and make our lives easier.

However, I am very much aware that our environment is deteriorating at an alarming state because of us and our intense greed. Because of that, my pledge for the environment is to make a difference even in simple ways, conservation of energy, 3Rs, etc., and to be an advocate, which is why I decided to join an environmental organization called Youth Advocates for Climate Action Philippines (YACAP) as I believe that it would help me accomplish my pledge.
