Creating a price floor that puts a minimum price on what the price of fast food can be. This can be set above the price of healthy food, which raises the price of fast food above healthy. This would mean fast food takes up a larger proportion of a consumers income, which may relate to YED. When fast food takes up a larger portion of income, consumers may lean towards healthy food that take a smaller portion of income

Fast food=demerit good

Fast food is considered a demerit good due to the negative externalities it imposes on society and contributes towards decreasing welfare. The over-consumption of fast food is correlation with poor education. This is evidence that consumers of the market have bounded rationality due to asymmetric information regarding the negative health effects of fast food. In order to eliminate the asymmetric information the government should focus on subsidising educational programs for school that would explain the negative effects of fast food consumption to the children. Besides elimnating asymetric information, since the concept is introduced at a younger age it also can create an anchoring bias which can also prevent overconsumption of fast food in the population.
