Sir Eka brings an interesting vibe for the class. I really like how he is passionate about the topics and how we can achieve better outcomes, there might be challenges in this class that doesn’t usually happens on another class's, in my opinion he handles it really well.

Sir Eka helped me a lot in my semester the way he explains and keep every single errors of mine is amazing. Due to his support I got able to complete my assignment with motivation as well as his friendly behavior helped me to boost my confidence in class. Thank you.

End of Semester Reflection - Composition 1

As the semester comes to an end, I’ve taken another step backwards to retake this course (Composition 1), this journey has been meaningful for me, as I was determined to learn from my past mistakes and improve not only my writing but overall my academic work.

One of the biggest improvements I made was learning how to properly use APA 7th edition formatting. Last semester, I struggled with citations and understanding how to structure my references correctly. This time, I paid close attention to the guidelines, and I feel much more confident in citing sources and avoiding plagiarism.

We also spent a lot of time on academic writing and paragraph development. I now understand the importance of clear topic sentences, supporting evidence, and logical organization within a paragraph. Writing argumentative essays helped me practice making strong claims and backing them up with credible sources, which I found challenging before but now see as a strength.

At the start of the class and even before, I had great difficulty in creating essays. However, with Mr. Eka's help and guidance, I was able to actually start and finish 2 essays during my time here at Sampoerna. I feel I would not have been able to do this with Mr. Eka's help.

I dislike having to do the writing "step by step" but that mostly has to do with me not knowing how to properly do "time management" like a smarty person would do. I got many compliments for my writing, which is strange because I am far from someone who enjoys being forced to write about boring essays, feels like I need to hit a word count and make it look smart than it needs to, I do some writing for myself but their often more like schizophrenic angry letters or opinions that would send me to jail in 50 different (mostly European) countries. I am unsure on how to improve, because honestly I do not even know how would you do that with writing aside from reading more words from the thesaurus I think? Eh Im a big loser myself so my opinions and thoughts are probably dumb for most people in general, although I think most people are stupid compared to me with my weird internet niche topics and a bit of political science (I like business case studies). Also I realize most boys are not for me right now, so sad because my sister already have a boyfriend but I'm less pretty and socially friendlier than her, still I feel like many of the guys are here are at best a 5/10 or ones I would absolute avoid in the future. I should have more friends maybe too.

This course was a mixed bag for me, but a memorable one. If I had to be brutally honest, this class just isn't for me. I've never seen myself as an academic writer in any future. A lot of the time I felt rather lost and confused on what on earth to do, the essays, a reccuring obstacle in this class, I found tedious and a drag to write. Not to mention how early in the morning this class starts so there was no time for idling around in any day this class occured. On the other hand, when I knew what I was doing, I never hesitated to make the most of it, and I always end up feeling very triumphant in the end. Dr. Eka is an amazing lecturer and if it wasn't for his patient teaching techniques and open-mindedness, I'd enjoy this course a lot less. Sometimes I do my assignments just to not dissapoint him. He is without a doubt the saving grace of this entire course and I'm really hoping I'll still get to cross paths with him for as long as I'm in this college. You have my fullest support, sir, godspeed. If I had to point out one detrimental flaw with me that really held my potential at bay, it'd be my horrendous procrastinating habbit. It's gotten me in serious hot water and I've got noone to blame but myself. I'm hoping I get rid of this habbit once and for all soon. And that's the end.

I can see a lot went well from my writing skills. I used to have a lot of troubles on writing from just the bare minimum ideas. By introducing me on the idea of having thesis statement, topic sentence, and outline, the way i write things also improve. I used to be somewhat informal even in academic writing and don't know how to make my writing interesting, but now i know at least my mistake even though i don't know how to make my writing better.

Not so sure how to improve the class as i am inexperienced in writing and so far i have no complaints coming from this class. However, i do think i should do more writing practices to improve because the best way to improve is by doing it right?

And thank you very much sir Eka! I don't think i have said it enough but i really enjoy your class from someone who used to hate writing essays hehe!

This class teach me a lot more than just how to write a good essay, i also learn about trusting process and take lessons from it no matter what the result is. Although i found many struggle during the assignments, it still relieving to know that i survived. I want to improve my skills on finding the relate references for my essay because for me that's the hardest part of my process. This compo class with pak Eka is very memorable and i would definitely remember the lessons as a core memories forever.
