Since Enchanted is set in Manhattan it really is a completely different type of fairytale than what Disney normally assembles. It feels more believable especially if you are a young kid. I remember when Enchanted came out I loved it because it was not all animated. This is a very common trend throughout Disney fairytales until recently. The most common Disney fairytales like Cinderella, The Little mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, and even as recent as Frozen have this theme of beauty. What does this mean exactly? It means that like Snow White, girls have to be skinny, dress in "pretty clothes", and do their hair and make up, to be pretty.
