1. The internet connection (wifi and the landline) need to be more stable and fast throughout the day especially for the students to utilise. I personally have given up using the internet provided by UMS unless I want to download jurnals (need the IP for free viewing and such). Effective and efficient e-learning is just a wishful thinking if we can't address this matter first. We need to find ways to create an environment that do not frustrate online learners and online facilitators.

2. The standardization to use SmartUMS is a limiting factor in this age of modern technology. It limits UMS academicians creativity and advancement; which in the end slowing down e-learning progress in this university. It is like an output from the same factory without a room for creativity.

3. The fact that many lecturers are now using online learning platforms actively shows the willingness of us to co-operate with the e learning vision. But the software and hardware in computer labs are so far behind (e.g. OS from last generation, again the lecturers have no problem cause we can always buy our own gadgets and devices, but what about the students who are financially constrained? IR 4.0 can't be achieved with outdated softwares and hardwares.

4. It is extremely hard to acquire licensed software. Most of the time, we are instructed to use the trial software. It really discourages me to utilise the software in classes because its windows keep on popping out asking for license keys.

5. I truly believe in technology to facilitate learning process. Therefore, please do not find my comments as being pessimistic but rather to show my passion in transforming the way students learn.

The use of our official e-learning platform does not appeal to me. I am comfortable using Schoology as it allows me to manage my classes efficiently every semester. It offers nice user interface, various course assessments options and accessible from the mobile app. I never have a problem using this free platform. I do not wish to rely on technician's assistance if I ever have any problems using SmartUMS (because I prefer to minimise my problems).

This was the strength of UMS e-learning before; the freedom to use any e-learning platforms. I use Schoology and padlets as it allows me to utilise many options it has. Now, we can only use smartums? I think we are being regressive here.

I really enjoy interacting with my students in Schoology setting. It is modern and chic looking interface which makes me feel up to date. I've seen smartums format since my first degree time, and that was 10 -13 years ago. I truly embrace the idea of blended learning to be empowered in UMS. Giving liberty to the instructors on how they approach blended learning is what I believe in achieving blended learning objectives.

Allow freedom to use any e-learning platform that is being offered nowadays. The world of technology should be our oysters not vice versa.

Buy softwares with license keys for P&P. Make the application process to buy softwares easier and faster. Give multi users license cause we need to use it in computer labs not just on personal computer. This to avoid when the budget finally comes for the software, the software is already outdated.

Those who are using e-learning / blended learning platforms enthusiastically should be rewarded.

Therefore, please add / improve academicians ELNPT by providing a specific KPI in blended learning (of course it needs rubric, so those who do not integrate blended learning can be eliminated from scoring any marks in the abovementioned KPI).
