It was always about the people that made it so special. I can still remember when you first joined us at Penn Tower. We did not know exactly who we were or how we would make change in health care, but we knew that you were the type of person we need on our team. Somehow, every project you touch becomes a success (HSM, FirstCall, embedded innovation, PennOpenPass), and it is very clear that you are an important part of it. You have an incredible drive to make projects and our Center better, and you are always trying to figure out ways to sharpen your skills. I am so impressed that you are always learning new skills, whether it is software applications or methodologies. You have a gentle but incisive way of getting at the root of problems or issues, and I also appreciate your sense of humor and patience. We are definitely going to miss you, but your imprint on this team will be felt for years to come. Things I will miss: Your pure effectiveness, pure reliability, pure inspiration, pure planning and anticipating the future.
Things I will not miss:  long emails.
Katy: we really would not be where we are without you.  When I look back on the programs that have defined us, that have made our patients better or served our own staff, you were behind so many of them.  They wouldn't have happened without you and the Center for Health Care Innovation in its current form would not have happened without you either.
We all want a recount.
