I learned that the scientific name for the sun is sol. IS was named from people that worshipped the sun. If on single light bulb wanted to get the same light as the sun, it would have to get basically 15 trillion times the light if a lightbulb.( don't quote me on that one.)
The tempature of the sun IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOT!!!!!!!!!! that would make me dead in a millisecond if i touched it.

The sun is 15,000,000 degrees celsius and without it the earth would be a dark icey ball floating around in space with no life on it. Sad.

It's no contest between a star and a light bulb the only difference is the distance a light bulb could fill up a room with light because it is in the room while a star could light up a planet if it was close enough. Luminous means light or glow or how bright a light is. You can try but I am not going anywhere near the sun. Just ten feet away and I would probably be dead.

I would rather call the sun radiant than luminous. It is the brightest thing that you can during the day and outshines the stars during the day. That is because it is closer to us but it is still very bright.
I think toasty is a very big understatement. The right word is probably OOOOUUUCCCHHH!!!! No one should ever try to study until we have the right technology.
A light times 1 million is not even close to a star. Our sun can almost blind you if you look at it.
Betelgeuse would outshine a quadrillion light bulbs that kind of brightness could make you go blind if you got anywhere near it.

Luminous is the power of light the star shows. The brighter the star, the more we can see it here on earth. A shine that that is very bright, especially at night. The sun is 15,000,000 degrees! this would burn all of us up if we were up to 1000 miles away! The Sol ( the scientific name for the sun) being this hot and so big, it is very dangerous. Which brings me to the size of it. The sun is big enough to fit 100 earths around it, and over 1,000,000 inside. THATS HUGE! The power of the sun only takes 8 short minutes to get to the earth, and the real reason we can see it here is because it's only 92 million miles away, which is a lot, but really not that much in space. If you really think about it, the sun and a light bulb aren't that different. A light bulb lightens a room, while the sun lights up the sun lights up the planet. Not going to lie, I had no idea what Betelgeuse was until now. NOT TO MENTION IT'S BIGGER THAN THE SUN! It didn't make much sense at first but now I understand. The reason I have never seen or heard of this star before is because even though its 1000 times bigger than the sun, it still is nowhere near as bright. It also is super far from earth. I wonder if another galaxy has this as their sun?.

luminous means something that is bright. Like a star. The temperature of the sun is 15,000,000 degrees that is crazy i never know that it was that hot i gut knew that it was hot. It takes 8 minutes to get light to the earth that is just so crazyyyyyyyy. I cant believe that is how fast light can gets to the earth.
The sun and a light bulb are not that different when you think about it. A light bulb lites up a room wail a sun lights up the earth.

The power of stars light or brightness is called known as luminous. The brightness varies if were farther or closer from a star. We might think a star is brighter than the other but it is only that because it is farther away. The temperature of the Sun is blazing hot and even if you were in a space ship you wouldn't be able to get 10,000 feet from the Sun's surface. The temperature of the Sun's surface is about 27,000,000 fahrenheit. If the Sun did not exist then Earth would just be an ice ball and we would be dead, the reason we live is because the Sun's energy heats up Earth and if we're are too close to the sun then we would burn up and to far, then we would be frozen.

Luminous is how bright or how much energy shines from the surface of a star. A measure of the energy and light shone down on us. The temperature of the sun( or sol which is the scientific word for sun)is toastier than toasty. It is hot. If you flew to space to touch the sun you melt long before you made it there. The center of the sun is 15,000,000(15 million) degrees Celsius. CELSIUS. That is HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT. And although the suns surface is only 5,600 degrees Celsius, yes I say that´s pretty toasty. WOW. It takes only 8 minutes to travel 150,000,000 kilometers from the sol to Earth. That is a very interesting peice of information. How long does it take you to eat your dinner? It takes me about 40ish minutes. In the time I eat my dinner 5 generations of light have traveled to me from the sun. Just wow!!! A star, much like a light bulb does not depend on its size for it to be bright it depends on its power and distance from it´s looker. A small but newer light bulb might be brighter than a bigre older one with not as much power or energy.

Betelgeuse is a star that is about 400 times bigger than the sun which is HUGE! Betelgeuse is I'm pretty sure is the brightest star in the night sky, so if you're going to look at Betelgeuse up close, you would have to where very special sunglasses. Luminuse is how much energy or lite comes from a star's surface. Some stars are dimmer than other stars because of how much energy it has. The sun's core is 27,000,000 % fahrenheit. The surface isn't as hot as the core but it is 10,000 % fahrenheit. Light bulbs and stars are kind of similar. Light bulbs glow from luminosity like stars. But the difference is, the stars are big and giant balls of fire full of helium gas that are so bright and hot that they can burn you to ashes while light bulbs are made of glass and metal and have electricity to make them glow and much smaller than stars and are not hot enough to burn you. And it takes light to escapes

I was so astonished by how many facts I have learned during my research of the sun. I learned that light takes 8 minutes to get to earth, which is more than I expected. I learned the definition of luminous, which, when you think about it, sounds like luminescent. Both of these mean a bright light, but luminescent is light that is not caused by heat. The temperature of the sun is 15,000,000 degrees Fahrenheit. The sun is not the biggest star in the universe, believe it or not. Betelgeuse is a star 400 times bigger. What shocked me most, though, is the fact that the sun is 15 trillion times brighter than I light bulb.

Luminous means bright or shining. It can also mean relating to light as it is perceived by the eye, rather than in terms of its actual energy. The temperature of the sun is 9,941 degrees in Fahrenheit. Think about it like this, when you open up the oven when your Mom is cooking and you think "Wow, this is hot" then imagine that heat times about 28. That is what the sun would feel like. Light takes exactly 8 miuites and 20 seconds to get to earth! I know that may seem like a long time, but when you think about how far away the Sol (the sun) is from earth, it seems a lot shorter.

I learned that luminosity is the measure of how much energy, or light. I learned that 1,000,000 earth can go into the sun or the sol. If the sun can fit 1,000,000 earth how much earths can go into Betelgeuse. I learned that light from the sol can reach earth in 8 minutes which is fascinating. If the sun was away the said that earth would be a cold planet and nothing living.
