The first session is all about getting to know your partner. Asking them questions about where they grew up, their family and what their favourite things are. Then using this information to create an 'All About Me' poster on Pic Collage.

This week is the start of looking at useful apps. The Notes app is a great way to quickly jot down ideas and lists in a digital format. Learn to create lots from shopping lists to photo galleries.

The Reminder app offers a quick way to set up one off or repetitive reminders from taking out the bins to hairdresser appointments.

A simple introduction to the Camera app, looking at taking photos (including selfies) and videos. Use this opportunity to interview you partner on what they have enjoyed doing in the project so far, filing their answers and then swapping roles.

This document can be Air Dropped to all of the iPads being used. Discuss this information with your partner and pick out that parts that you feel are most important. Then create an Internet Safety poster by revisiting the skills you have using the Pic Collage app. You can also add in the skill of copying and pasting from this document onto your poster.

Click on then link then duplicate the Form. To share the Form, click on Collect Responses, then select the QR code option, ensuring permissions are set to 'Anyone can respond'. Either share the QR code on a screen or print it, to be scanned. Share this during the session to allow people to scan the code and access the MS Form.

Participating in this 4-week project was highly rewarding and has strengthened the relationship between the school and the wider community. The children gained a great deal from each session, as did the adults who attended. This initiative should be offered more frequently, as it provided meaningful opportunities for growth and collaboration. It was a pleasure to work alongside Newmains Primary, to build positive relationships among pupils and staff and to ensure that all adults were fully equipped with the knowledge to support the project’s success. It was also wonderful to meet the adults involved and to engage in valuable conversations about their work and life with various charities and organisations. These discussions have opened exciting opportunities for the future!

The students were not only evaluating their ICT and communication skills, but they were also fostering meaningful, intergenerational connections within our community. Well done everyone!
