Q1. One of the main loss of agricultural land is drought many farmers have suffered for the need of water for their crops as India's rainfall has come the past few years. Cultivable land are also lost for the construction of highways, buildings and factories.
Q2. The reason of why the cultivable land in India is shrinking is because of using that land for non agricultural purposes. When farmers have large families after 2-3 generations their land gets split up/fragmented, these small plots are not suitable for agriculture.
Q3. We as far as possible should allow factories and buildings to be only built on uncultivable land the space with good cultivable land should be reserved for agriculture.
As the population is growing and the cultivable land is shrinking we should grow more in limited amount of land by modern technology like drip irrigation, green houses, genetically modified food, etc.

Ans to Q1- Few reasons for loss of cultivable land are- Less rainfall. Without rainfall farmers will not be able to grow their crops. Another reason for these losses are migration. People shift to cities for better jobs and more money. They shift to more profitable horticulture. People also migrate leaving their lands abandoned with no one to look after it.
Ans to Q2- Cultivable lands are shrinking because of less rainfall which leads to droughts.
Ans to Q3- The government can help poor farmers rent out lands so that people won't have to abandon their lands. We can also plant more trees which in turn will bring more rainfall. If we protect our lakes then we will have enough water for cultivable land and ground water will also increase.

Impact on Cultivable Land

Answer 1 - Loss of Cultivable Land is primarily due to drought which is due to less rainfall which in turn is due to trees being cut and environment being meddled with. It's kind of a chain reaction. The second important reason that we are losing our Cultivable lands is the migration of farmers and families to cities or other occupations.

A1.There are four reasons for our losses. One is a lack of rainfall, the second is the law about land leasing .But the more serious reasons (to me )are the facts that people are migrating more, and they are shifting to more profitable horticultures.

A2.The first and biggest reason is people migrating to urban areas, and shifting to non-agricultural jobs.Since they can't lease their land, the have to leave it
unattended ,which turns that particular part to grow over with weeds and other things like creepers. It is also due to the drought, which hardens and dries up cultivable land.

A3.I think that only one of the problems can be solved really easily.Lack of rainfall is a problem created by us so it's got to be solved by us. All we have to do is
plant more trees ,which will get us more rainfall. Unfortunately, that solution will take a few years, while we need it now.The second problem is more easy. What we
could do is just get the farmers to sell it ,since most people would probably be moving permanently. As for those who are going only for a while, well, they could
probably get a farm hand to stay and do it.Shifting horticulture is going to take some thinking. Maybe, instead of just leaving it alone, they could keep their crop
AND their other horticulture.Drought will pass in a few years, which again ,is a bit to late one.Well the trees would grow, which would provide more rain. so the drought would pass more quickly,or at least lessen a bit.

CULTIVABLE LAND
The main reason for loss of cultivation land is drought but this may not be permanent because you can prevent drought in many ways. There are many other reasons such as migration and non leasing of land which means that families who are migrating don't rent/give their land to the ones in need because of that a great amount of land is left just like that. Another reason is that most of the farmers are leaving agriculture and moving to horticulture because it is very profitable and doesn't need lots of investment in the land

PROBLEM SOLVING
Global warming takes a very big role in the happening of drought because global warming heats up the Earth. There won't even be a little rain that the whole area dries quickly. We can prevent global warming but following these ways:
·REDUCE,REUSE AND RECYCLE
·GO SOLAR
·GO GREEN
·EAT LESS MEAT
·CELEBRATE EARTH DAY
·PLANT TREES
·DOWNLOAD EARTH SAVING APPS
·SPREAD THE AWARNESS

USE WATER WISELY!
If you save water you can use the water in the drought. There are hundred of ways you can save water such as you have to turn of taps because if you leave a dripping tap one week you can waste up to 170 litres of water. Even in farms farmers try not to waste water. They make a pond made out of cement so whenever rain comes the pond collects lots of water and because it is made out of cement the ground doesn't absorb the water. This called rain water harvesting. Another thing is that farmers have discovered that if you just dump a bucket of water on the plant, the plant will absorb only 1/4 of it and the rest will just go to waste. Instead you can fix sprinklers or stoppers so that the plant will only take how much ever it wants.

Israel has invented all of these inventions for agriculture. It is so popular that the whole world is using it since the last decade. If you would have seen Israel in the 70's you could have thought that this was another country compared to now because it was very dry and you couldn't see a single tree. Now if see Israel is filled with flowers, trees, fruits etc.

THANK YOU FOR READING MY LONG H.W. BYE!!!:-)

A1. The loss of cultivable land is due to drought and very less rainfall. Due to this the farmers startgoing to places where they can get better jobs and more opportunities due to the natural problems caused.
A2. Cultivable land is shrinking because of less rain, drought and migration of farmers. Since the farmers are leaving and going to city's for job opportunities, the land is left uncultivated.
A3. I think we can solve this problem by planting trees and increasing the ground water so that the soil will become rich and the farmers will start planting. When there is rainfall, the land will start to absorb the water and at one point it will become fertile and healthy. Another solution is to build dams and lakes for storage of rainwater for better irrigation purpose.
