Easter is a Christian holiday that I celebrate. a few days before Easter my family dyes eggs in beautiful colors. on the night before, my mom fills up plastic eggs with candy. some eggs are colored gold and they have different amounts of money inside. then the morning of, my parents put out all the plastic eggs out in our field. then at noon my family goes out and finds them. I usually trade candy that I don't want with my siblings for candy that I do want. I might not be able to do it this year because I might be too old for Easter egg hunting. I will still go after the golden eggs though.

Easter is coming up, i'm not Christian but we still celebrate Easter in our family, we usually have an Easter egg hunt and get some candy in an Easter basket! If you didn't know, Easter is a Christian/pagan holiday, it celebrates the resurrection of Jesus. In my family we usually host Easter since our house and the outside is bigger than the rest of our family but this year my cousins are hosting it. We bring lots of food and treats like deviled eggs and rice krispie treats. We also bring hundreds of plastic eggs full of candy and some with money. I have never watched this movie before but it looks interesting! I really like the Laika studios which is a company that produces movies. My personal favorite movie is Coraline. Those chips sound super good. I really like Seaweed Salad. It's a mix of different seaweed types mixed together into a salad with sesame seeds a little bit of rice vinegar and sometimes soy sauce. It's really good and it often comes with Sushi or Hawaiian food. I also enjoy Watermelon a lot. It's my favorite fruit.

We celebrate something kinda similar called in English we call it "Day of the Dead". It's a holiday that originated 3,000 years ago in Mexico and Central America that honors deceased loved ones and often includes visiting the grave sites to lay flowers. Some people even have an Ofrendas which are a sort of altar with photos of deceased loved ones often with the accompanying favorite food of the person left as an offering. Most of my family goes to mexico to celebrate but me and my parents stay here and celebrate home.

I've been playing trombone for two years not and before that I played percussion. I really enjoy playing trombone and I like the sound of our notes. We have a class period to practice everyday and we also do a lot of concerts every year. We actually have Honor Band this Friday which is where we play with the high school band! I play with my dads old trombone so its very nostalgic to me.

My favorite local dish I recommend is quiet a hard question to answer since the U.S is so big escpecially California alone. But I decided that a BLT is what I recommend. I love novels as well, I probably spend about 10 hours a week just reading. One of my favorite books, Catching Fire, is part of a series of dystopian books called Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Sorry for not answering! The field trip was a couple weeks ago, We do not do competitions, but we do concerts for family members of band kids to hear the music. The clarinet can be hard, but it is really fun! Do you play any instruments? My family grows strawberries every year! This year we updated our front flower garden, and we are clearing out a space in our backyard for flowers. I hope your flower lasts a long time, I always hate seeing the flowers die, so we often plant a couple of flowers that bloom all year.

Hi Peggy! Honor Band went great! My favorite piece is Celtic Air and Dance. I really enjoy the flowing sound and strong beat. There's not many trombones so I get to play really strong without overpowering the band. We don't have anymore concerts this year but next year as a freshman I get to play at all of the football games in marching band and we do a big field trip at the end of the year for music. That sounds awesome! I’m glad Honor Band went so well. Celtic Air and Dance is such a cool piece—the smooth, flowing melody mixed with the strong rhythm must make it really exciting to play. And since there aren’t many trombones, it’s nice that you can play with a lot of power without overpowering the whole band. Trombone parts can sound amazing in music like that.

Marching band next year sounds really fun too! Playing at football games is very different from concert band, but once you get used to marching and playing at the same time, it becomes a lot of fun. And the music trip at the end of the year already sounds like something exciting to look forward to.
