      <description>On September 3, 2018, Nike gained an enormous worldwide attention when they released their 30th anniversary of its “Just Do It”  new advertisement commercial campaign featuring a controversial figure Colin Kaepernick. The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who gained attention in 2016 after kneeling during the national anthem in protest of racism. This Nike ad has gained enormous worldwide attention and has stirred up controversy discussed on a variety of different social media platforms. This report will share how this current event has been viewed throughout social media from different perspectives.

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Nate Boyer, a former NFL player and Army Green Beret joined the First Take to discuss his perspective on the kneeling controversy. He had a conversation with Colin keapernick and although he doesn't agree with his stance he believes he has that right. Originally Keapernick decided to sit during the national anthem until Nate influence him to kneel as a sign of respect to those who have sacrificed their lives for what the national anthem represents. This video is important because it highlights an action Keapernick took towards his protest to do it in the most respectful and peaceful way while still spreading a message he believes in.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> In 2017 Colin Kaepernick gets a deal with Nike and post the ad with a powerful statement on Twitter “Believe in something if it means sacrificing everything” making his perspective clear as to why he started to kneel for the anthem. He recognizes unfairness in his country towards the   African American community and believes in change, which resulted in his career being sacrificed when no other team would sign him.  He used the hashtag #justdoit, and his tweet was liked by 919,640 and commented on by 47,000 people with mixed reactions with some supporting and others against it using the trending hashtag #NikeBoycott.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Donald Trump, the president of the United States, took to Twitter questioning Nike's decision for featuring Colin Kaepernick in their new advertisement campaign. Trump has voiced his perceptive on the kneeling controversy before and believes Kaepernick is sending a terrible message and  NFL  should fire players who don't stand for the national anthem and shouldn't disrespect the flag and the military and if they do they should be fired or suspended and shouldn't be in the United States.  Many believe Trump speaking out about this event had the major influence in Colin Kaepernick being blackballed along with the backlash and the loss of viewership.</div>]]></description>
