  • There was some level of cooperation between singapore and Malaysia in the RTS because they were willing to build a high speed rail connecting the 2 countries together. However, they repeatedly postponed the construction of the rail, due to issues on both countries’ side, implying that relations between both countries weren’t so smooth


    1. Economic interests (a lot of Malaysian businesses would benefit if singapore tourist went over, and Singaporeans would also benefit through ease of visiting Malaysia during peak seasons like CNY)
