He was the 18th President of the United States. As Commanding General in the Union Army , Grant worked closely with President Abraham Lincoln to lead the Union to victory over the Confederacy in the Civil War.

William Tecumseh Sherman-

He was an American soldier, businessman, educator and author. He served as a General in the Union during the Civil War, for which he received recognition for his outstanding military strategy.

George Gordon Meade- 

He fought in the Second Seminole War and the Mexican American War. During the Civil War he served as a Union General rising from command of a brigade to the Army of the Potomac. He is best known for defeating Robert E. Lee at the Battle of Gettysburg.

George Brinton McClellan-

He was a general for the Union army during the Civil War and the democratic presidential nominee in 1864, who later served as Governor of New Jersey.

Robert Edward Lee- 

He was a soldier known for commanding the Confederates of North Virginia in the Civil War from 1862 until his surrender in 1865.

Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson- 

He was a Confederate general during the Civil War, and one of the best known Confederate commanders after the confederate general, Robert E. Lee.

James Longstreet- 

He was one of the foremost confederate generals of the Civil War and he served under General Robert E. Lee, who called him his "Old War Horse."

James Ewell Brown "Jeb" Stuart- 

He was an army officer from the state of Virginia who later became a confederate States army general during the Civil War.
