The age of adolescence is a period where many people are affected by peer pressure and competition.

competition can be good or bad- it motivates people and makes them work harder, but it it creates a sense of lower self - esteem

People who constantly compare themselves to others may develop sad feelings of inadequacy. Since no one is good at everything, competitive individuals always have someone to lose against. The constant quest to be the best may lead to stress, and other issues.

A feeling that one must do the same things as other people of one's age and social group is peer pressure

Here are a few examples of positive peer pressure:

Pushing a friend to study harder so they can get better grades.

Getting an after-school job and convincing friends to get a job too.

Saving money for a big purchase like a car and encouraging friends to do the same.

Disapproving of or gossiping.

Negative peer pressure can also affect mental health. It can decrease self-confidence and lead to poor academic performance, distancing from family members and friends, or an increase in depression and anxiety.

Peer pressure can be tackled by inner strength and self-confidence, through resistance to doing something when you know better

Peer pressure or influence is when you do something because you want to feel accepted and valued by your friends. Peer influence can be positive or negative. Coping well with peer influence is about getting the right balance between being yourself and fitting in with your group

Peer pressure can be tackled by inner strength and self-confidence, through resistance to doing something when you know better.~Riya,Prajakta,Ayush,Soureesh,Lakshmi,Neha
