I see this in the safeguards present in my office building and the trainings and modules provided by employer towards keeping the workplace safe, friendly and warm for everyone. Working in a consultancy firm I find it important to leverage on each one’s strength, and I’d be able to materialize this by fostering a safe learning environment with the team by openly sharing ideas, encouraging questions and discussions, and actively seeking feedback to improve our collective understanding. In cases that we find ourselves having difficulty, it’s best to share best practices and lessons learned. With these in mind, I encourage this kind of environment through communicating questions or concerns, being open to feedback and discussions, and show support to fellow colleagues. I would also be mindful of the policies and procedures which would help maintain a systematic environment to encourage management and good coordination.

I associate commitment to actions done for sustainability which is post-initiation of a project or program. With safety policies, visible signages, assigned internal teams, and regular trainings, commitment is best seen in the everyday situations. This includes reporting hazards within the workplace to the right persons, reminding colleagues of policies and procedures, and being active during open discussions and reporting.

For me its really a matter of self discipline and respect to myself and to others. By simply being discipline, we can easily follow rules and policies in order to contribute to a safe learning envrinonment. By being discipline, we do not only respect rules, but we respect others by simply not distracting others from proper learning and instead helping them in order to excel in learning.
