I'm currently a Senior High School student taking STEM Pre-SCI. When I'm not buried in mountains of schoolwork, you can often find me indulging in two of my favorite hobbies: drawing characters from my favorite fandoms and experimenting with baking recipes I find online. As for my online presence, Twitter (now known as "X") is my go-to platform. Despite its reputation for hosting toxic communities, I've found a way to navigate around that by blocking or muting the accounts I find iffy. I mainly use it to stay connected with friends and to follow artists whose work I admire. It's been a blast so far, especially with how easy it is to navigate and discover the media I’m interested in.

One anime that stands out for me is "Nichijou" by Kyoto Animations. What initially caught my attention was its unconventional art style, but I stayed for the quirky characters and humor. Despite its lack of a complex plot, revolving around high school girls navigating their daily lives, it manages to subvert expectations with its clever twists on cliches. From the comically unlucky main character to an elementary school-aged scientist creating a robot girl, "Nichijou" is bustling with well-executed absurdity that I highly recommend.

One franchise that has left a lasting impression on me is Pokémon. Introduced to it by my older sister, I vividly remember discovering the video game series on her old Nintendo DS. The journey into the whimsical world of pocket monsters and characters became an unforgettable part of my childhood. Now, I keep up to date with all the new games and play the older games through online emulators.

Firstly, there's "beabadoobee," a talented Filipino-British musician whose indie-folk tunes and captivating guitar solos have won me over. I resonate deeply with many of her songs and often recommend her music to my friends seeking new artists to explore. Currently, my favorite track of hers is "Care" from the album "Beatopia."

I enjoy these specific kinds of media because they serve as a form of entertainment for me; they allow me to escape from the monotonous cycle of day-to-day life and serve as an outlet for my creativity and passion. Additionally, they provide a way for me to bond and get to know people; sharing interests with others is a great way to connect while engaging in something enjoyable. The fact that I can also create media and freely share it online is an assuring thought, reminding me that people can freely express themselves. This is where media stems from, one idea morphing into something bigger due in part to the interactions people share online and offline.
