The Teavee family together with Charlie and Grandpa Joe went inside a bright and dazzlingly white room. Mr. Wonka handed each of them a pair of dark glasse and said, "Put these on quick! And don´t take them off in here whatever you do! This light could blind you!" The room was painted white all oever. Even the floor was white. At one of these end there was an enormous camara on wheels, and a whole army of Oompa-Loompas was clustering around it, they were wearing bright-red space suit with helmet and goggles. There was something dangerous about this whole business, and the Oompa-Loompas knew it. "Here we go!" cried Mr. Wonka, hopping up and down with excitement. "This is the testing room for my very latest and greatest invention. Television Chocolate. "Well, watch this! I shall now send a bar of my very best chocolate from one end of this room to the other by television! Get ready, there! Bring in the chocolate!" Immediately, six Oompa-Loompas marched forward carrying on their shoulders the most enormous bar of chocolate charlie had ever seen. It was about the size of the mattress he slept on at home. Get ready! No, no! Stop Hold everything! You there! Mike Teavee! Stand back! You´re too close to the camara! There are dangerous rays coming out ot that thing! That´s why the Oompa-Loompas are wearing space suits! The suits protect them! That´s better Now, Switch on! There was a blinding flash. " The chocolate´s gone!" " It´s on it way!" Watch the screen! Here it comes! Look! The chocolate appeared in the middle of the screen. Charlie put his hand and touched the screen, and suddenly, the bar of chocolate came away in his fingers. Eat it! shouted Mr. Wonka. " Just imagine, cried Mr. Wonka, when I start using this across the country. "Terrific!" cried Grandpa Joe. It will change the world!"

"Mike Teavee was even more excited than Grandpa Joe at seeing a bar of chocolate being sent by television. Can you send other things through the air in the same way? Breakfast, cereal, and what about people? "A person! cried Mr. Wonka "Good heavens, child, I don´t know... I suppose it could... yes, I´m pretty sure it could. I wouldn´t like to risk it , thought it might have some nasty results. Mike Teavee was already running. I´m going to be the first person in the world to be sent by television!" No, No, cried Mr. Wonka. "Mike!" screamed Mrs Teavee. Come back! You´ll be turned into a million tiny pieces. See you later, alligator! he shouted, he pulled down the switch, and as he did so, he leaped out into the full glare of the mighty lens. Mrs. Teavee ran forward.. and she stood there "He´s gone!" We shall have to hope for the best, Mr. Wonka said. "We must pray that your little boy will come out unharmed at the other end." "We must watch the television set, said Mr. Wonka. The screen was quite blank. I don´t wish to alarm you, said Mr. Wonka, "but it does sometimes happen that only about half the little pieces find their way into the television. It happened last week. Mrs. Teavee let out a scream of horror. A tiny little voice, no louder than the squeaking of a mouse, came out of the television set. Hi, Mum! It said. Hi Pop! "Look at me! "Grab him!" ordered Mr. Wonka "Quick". "Here it comes! yelled Mr. Wonka. "Yes, that´s him all right! The picture of Mike appeared on the screen. " But he´s a midget! shouted Mr. Teavee. "Talk to me, M Mrs. Teavee shot out a hand and picked the tiny figure out of the screen. He´s all in one piece! He´s shrunk! said Mr. Teavee. Mr. Teavee took the tiny boy and shoved him into the beast pocket of his jacket. Oh, Mr. Wonka how can we make him grow? We´ll put him in a special machine I have for testing the stretchiness of chewing gum! Maybe that will bring him back to what he was. Mr. Wonka turned away and clicked his fingers and the Oompa- Loompa appeared inmediately and took the tiny boy.

Mr. Wonka, "Grandpa Joe, called after him there´s only Charlie left now". "You mean you´re the only one left? Mr. Wonka siad, pretending to be surprised. My dear boy , he cried out, "that means you´ve won!" He started shaking Charlie´s hand so furiously it nearly came off. This is terrific! Well done, now the fun is really going to start. We have an enormous number of things to do before the day is out! The old man´s face was shining with excitement as he watched every move that Mr. Wonka made. "Faster! cried Mr. Wonka, banging the wall of the elevator with his hand. You wait and see! I´ve been longing to press this button for years! But never done it until now! Up and out! The elevator had shot right into the sky like a rocket and were a thousand feet up in the sky. Are we all right? cried Grandpa Joe. "How does this thing stay up? " Candy power!" said Mr. Wonka.

We must go down and take a look at our little friends before we do anything else, said Mr. Wonka . Looking down now, Charlie could see the children and their parents standing in a little group inside the gates. Do you see the truck? Mr. Wonka asked Charlie. Yes, Charlie said. "What are they for? Every children goes home with a lifetime´s supply of candy. There goes our friend Augutus Gloop. He´s very much all right, said Mr. Wonka. He´s changed! There goes Violte Beauregarde, It seems as though they managed to de-juice her after all. And how healthy she looks. Look poor Veruca Salt. They´re simply covered with garbage! And here comes Mike Teavee! "Good heavens! What have they done to him? He´s about ten feet tall and thin as a wire! said Grandpa Joe. It is time we left these four silly children. I have something very imporant to talk to you about, my dear Charlie. Mr. Wonka pressed another button, and the elevator swung upwards into the sky.

"How I love my chocolate factory", said Mr. Wonka. Then he paused, and he turned around and looked at Charlie with the most serious expression on this face. "Do you love it, Charlie? he asked. "Oh , yes, cried Charlie, "I think it´s the most wonderful place in the whole world". I am very pleased to hear you say that, I shall tell you why. You see my dear boy, I have decided to make you a present of the whole place. As oon as you are old enough to run it, the entire factory will become yours." Charlie opened his mouth to speak but no words came out. You must be joking gasped Grandpa Joe. I´m not joking sir. "I´m deadly serious." I´m an old man. I´m much older than you think. I can´t go on forever. I´ve got no children of my own, no family at all. Someone´s got to keep it going. I want a sensible loving child, one to whom I can tell my most precious candy-making secrets while I am still ailve. I decides to invite five children to the factory, and the one I liked the best at the end of the day would be the winner. We must go at once and fetch the rest of the family. Charlie´s father and his mother and anyone else that´s around! They can live in the factory from now on! They can help to run it until Charlie is old enough to do it by himself! The elevator shot down toward Charlie ´s house. Crash went the elevator, right down throught the roof of the house into the old people´s bedroom. Save us! cried Grandma Josephine. " Calm yourself, my darling wife, said Grandpa Joe, stepping out of the elevator. "Mother! cried Charlie, rushing into Mrs. Bucket´s arms. Listen what happened! We ´re all going back to live in Mr. Wonka´s factory and we are going to help him to run it and he´s given it all to me and ... and... "just look at our house! It´s in ruins. My dear sir, Mr. Wonka, I´m o very glad to meet you. You mustn´t worry about your house. From now on, your´re never going to need it again, anyway. It took quite a time for Grandpa Joe and Charlie to explain to everyone exactly what had been happening to them all day. They simply pushed the bed into the elevator. Mr. Wonka pressed a button. Charlie climbed onto the bed and tried to calm the three old people. It´s quite safe. And we´re are going to the most wonderful place in the world! Will there be anything to eat when we get there? asked Grandma Josephine. "Im starving!" The whole family is starving.!" "Anything to eat? cried Charlie, laughing. " Oh, you just wait and see!"
