I really like the background picture for this padlet. The feathers represent the aims of Language B, forming together the whole body, which is the teaching and learning approach. The aims support a student-centered language learning environment, which stimulates international-mindedness, cultural awareness, critical and creative thinking skills and encourages further learning and enjoyment.

Most of my highlights were the same as the selected. I emphasized "opportunities" in the sixth aim, mostly because I feel that it is those opportunities that inspire my students most in their creativity and critical thinking skills. I have found more often than not, that when given the opportunity, my students surpass my expectations in their ability to problem solve and create outcomes that I most likely would not have thought of myself.

My selected phrases are the same as the ones highlighted in version B. Guess it means that I'm on the track with my understanding of language learning and teaching. With multicultural understanding come acceptance of other cultures, religions which is highly important in a mobile and globalised world. Hence, for me, international mindedness which is very much emphasized by IB is the single most important strand that ties the IB programmes together.

My key phrases were longer, I selected more words - but the content was the same.
In the aim n. 6, I also included "intellectual engagement" which is very important to me. Without it, I find classes boring for the students and for myself. I guess, this concept can be included in 'critical/creative thinking" and therefore, it can be omitted. Personally, the aim n. 3 (variety of perspectives) is particularly significant as, in my country, we are living through a period of intolerance.
Finally, I found interesting to compare these aims to the learner profile and see how they match.

For number 2, I selected "variety of purposes" - I think learners need to find ways of adapting language and using it efficiently in different situations (which ties to the selected idea of "communication").

For number 3, the selected aim was "variety of perspectives". I had chosen "diverse cultures" since diverse cultures will have and present different perspectives. I think sometimes it's difficult for students to see outside their "bubble", therefore I think that in language lessons it's important to present examples from different countries that speak the language (for instance, not always reference France, what about French-speaking, countries in Africa, French Polynesia, etc.?)

In my case I would like to emphasize the relation between the language and cultures. I do think that as teachers of languages we have the opportunity to bring cultural aspects to the classroom, to broaden the horizons of our students and what it is the most important: to break stereotypes and prejudices (some of the colleagues here have already talked in the same way).

Number 6 and 7 are also very important for me: critical and creative thinking are keys to make of the education and the process of learning a real joyful path (not only by the students but for us as professionals).

The key phrases that I selected were very similar to the highlighted ones. To me the multicultural mindness of the language studies is very important, students have to see how speaking the language help you understand the culture. I like giving the students texts that reflect a social issue related to their lifes so that they can reflect about it and can work the use of the language on their own. I also like the opportunity to have class discussions so that they can put the vocabulary into use and learn to debate in another language. I also like to show them the power of language and how much you can influence other people's minds with words.
