Many times people see SEL as its own topic that needs to be taught. SEL is meant to be intertwined in the lessons. No two classrooms or teachers will do it the same, so it is hard to compare. Just be compassionate, patient, and understanding and it will come naturally.
Next, I see a big overhaul on grading. If one teacher allows for revisions and another does not, students can get flustered and even angry. We all need to give students the same opportunities to make mistakes and learn from them, not be punished by them. 
Lastly, Let's focus on how we, the adults, can foster a good school climate for our students. We can change the overarching school climate to reflect how we feel and what we want our students to feel.
