As a result of their family feud that goes back through generations when they grew older the feud had gotten personal,  both men grew entitled and caused the feud to go on and refuse to stop it and continued seeking revenge to each other. The only way to settle the years of feud was to bring death to the other person and claim the land to be your own.

The conflict in the “ interlopers” is that two family’s the gradwitz and znaeym are fighting to see who gets ownership of the forest land and still even generations they still fight over it and they hate each other so bad they would kill each other. This means that their family back in the day three generations fought over this land and even till this day they made it personal and still fight over the land.
